希腊神话中，第二代神王克洛诺斯的妻子是瑞亚（Rhea）。她是大地女神盖亚与天空之神乌拉诺斯所生的女儿，十二泰坦神之一，克洛诺斯的姐姐，按照希腊神话中近亲繁殖的惯例成为了弟弟克洛诺斯的妻子，与他生育了三女三男六个孩子，分别是赫斯提亚、得墨忒耳、赫拉和哈迪斯、波塞冬、宙斯。她的名字被用来命名土星的第二大卫星土卫五。

在罗马神话中，与瑞亚对应的女神是播种和丰产女神俄普斯（Ops），是农神萨图恩的妻子，大地女神的助手，负责保佑农产品的丰收，人们常常把她与掌管谷物的谷物女神刻瑞斯搞混。在古罗马神庙中，俄普斯往往和农神萨图恩一道接受人们的祭祀。每年8月25日是俄普斯的节日，人们在收获完毕后举行感恩庆祝。在拉丁语中，俄普斯的名字ops的意思是“丰产、丰富”。英语单词opulence、opulent都来自俄普斯的名字。
